The Aurora Borealis and Australis are probably the most spectacular natural phenomena on planet Earth. Rich in energy, colour, shape & movement, the Aurora provides inexhaustible creative material to the observer. Current photographic technology allows the phenomena to be captured with a high quality image. As Aurora appear most often in the North or South Poles, the photographer is working in highly challenging climatic conditions. To date, all of my photography has taken place from northern Europe. My compositions remain true to the shapes & colours of the Aurora as captured by my photographic equipment, knowing that the human eye cannot see the whole colour range of the Aurora. The photographs were taken in different seasons and at different times of day, between sun rise & sun set.
